Tell Him that God Doesn't Hate Him

Hi, This one I am sure you will be able to help with. My son suffers with Crohns disease, he was diagnosed at six, although he has had it since just a year old. He is now 12. We have been to the hospital today because he hasnt been feeling so weel recently and it looks like the disease may have spread. There have been so many times I have been so angry, why my child? what did he do wrong? He is now reaching adolesance and is feeling the same thing, I dont know how to answer him when he asks me why he has this incurable disease, and I cannot blame him for turning his back on Christ because i did do the same thing, although i found my way back. My question is, how do I explain that God doesnt hate him, and God isnt punishing him by giving him this illness? And any ideas on what answer I can give when he asks me why?

What is Heaven like?

My family recently had 2 deaths. My children ages 5 and 8 had so many questions. Mostly about heaven and what it is like, how you get there, what do you look like in heaven etc. My husband and I had a hard time answering most of these. I just kept telling them that no one really knows since you don't come back to tell about it. Lame answer I know. Just wondering how others explained it to children. Thanks!

The Chosen People?

In the Jewish faith, God is present, but Jesus is portrayed as a normal man who taught and preached his beliefs. He was just a Jewish man who taught a lifestyle that was meant to lead everyone to have a life without troubles. What he taught was easy to understand. If you sin, then trouble will follow. So, the less you sin, the less trouble you have in your life. The only problem that Jewish people had, was who this man says he is. He considers himself the son of God an he (Jesus) was killed because of it. In the Old Testament and to this day, the Jewish faith is awaiting their savior to come. Christians believe Jesus was that savior and they are now considered "Saved". On the other hand, the Jewish people have always been considered "God's Chosen People." If a Jewish person is not "Saved" but is considered "The Chosen Person", do they go to heaven? If not, what is the meaning of "The Chosen People" ?

Getting your Spouse to go to Church with You

Thank you to everyone that has visited the site today & offered advice. I have decided to leave the questions anonymous to protect everyone's privacy. I hope this is okay with all of you. Tonight's question was the first one to be sent it. Here it is:

What do you do when you have a husband who refuses to attend church? My husband is a Christian, and is a good, God loving man, but he doesn't believe in the conformity of church, and believes that they are all just money making businesses. I have tried to attend without him, but we have 5 boys, one of which is disabled, and it is just too hard for me to do alone and after a few weeks of trying to go, I give up. I have tried leaving my disabled son and baby home with him, but then I get the "Daddy isn't going, so we don't have to go either" fight from my older two. I just don't know what to do.

Any advise on what to do?

Thanks!

Dealing with the Anger of a Spouse

Tonight I purchased a book that brought a question to mind. It explained that this woman named Jenny was married to an angry man. Everyone in the house was so afraid of his temper that they would walk on eggshells. Jenny eventually realized that she didn't have to tolerate his anger & she also realized that going along with it was disobedient to God.

I understand that divorce is not an option for a Christian couple & there is a saying that you can't change a person. So my question is, what was this woman to do to protect her walk with Christ?
